Knowing your seventh chords gives you the ability to add richness to your piano playing, no doubt about it. We have already had some fun with the different moods that the four basic chords, or triads, can create.

Well, that was just the beginning. The seventh adds a whole lot of dimension to these. What are you in for? Hmmmm... you might kind of compare these chords to triads like this: imagine eating a small dish of vanilla ice cream. Go ahead, take a few bites. Now, pretend that ice cream was just smothered with walnuts, chocolate sauce, and a cherry!

As we set foot on our path, I will place faith in the fact that you have had oodles of fun with the basic chords before plowing on, since we will base what we're about to explore on knowledge of those four triads. So, if you feel that you need to get more of a grip on them, please click here

Ready to carry on? Great. If you're feeling "in the dark" right now regarding seventh chords, be at ease. Join me as we trot down Seventh Avenue...
